To send our Dodger football team some extra luck for their game against Storm Lake, the FDSH cross country team is kicking off an awesome new tradition! 🎉 They’re running the equivalent of 70 miles—the distance from Storm Lake to Fort Dodge—with a football in hand!
Our Dodger runners will be looping around the high school and middle school all day, with each athlete tackling anywhere from 4 to 10 miles.

Senora Hinders recently took 12 FDSH students who are members of the new club, "Mejor Juntos" (Better Together), to the Afro-Latino Festival at Iowa Central. This club was created to support students learning English, with plans to offer tutoring, translation assistance, and buddy systems, all while building meaningful relationships to help these students feel welcomed at school. The festival was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect and engage with diverse cultures, all while strengthening the bond within the group.

The Fort Dodge Community School District is excited to announce an upcoming open house to showcase its newest cutting-edge educational tool, the Anatomage Table. The open house will be held on Tuesday, October 1st in Room 43 at Fort Dodge Senior High, offering students, parents, and community members an opportunity to experience this state-of-the-art anatomy visualization and virtual dissection tool.
The purchase of the Anatomage Table was made possible through the combined efforts of the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation, which provided $60,000, and additional funding from UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge, Calvert & Johnson Insurance, Iowa Central Community College, and Fort Dodge Senior High alumni, Dr. Joseph Schmoker and his wife, Tracy (Hurdel) Schmoker.
The Anatomage Table is recognized as the most technologically advanced 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection tool. It provides real-human-based medical education through digitized cadavers and real patient cases, offering an unparalleled hands-on learning experience.
