Feelhaver Elementary 4th graders have been hard at work learning all about the heart as they dive into the concepts of literal and figurative language, and they recently took their learning to the next level! They visited Fort Dodge Senior High, where past and present Foundations of Healthcare students teamed up with Mrs. O'Leary to lead an exciting, hands-on lesson.
The students played an interactive game on the Anatomage table to identify the different parts of the heart, watched close-up visuals of a beating heart, examined what the inside of a heart looks like, and used stethoscopes to listen to real heartbeats!
This collaboration between elementary and high school students offers something special—elementary students get a firsthand look at science in action, while high school students build leadership skills and deepen their knowledge by teaching others.
