Eton Mess is one of the many delicious dishes made in the FDSH Culinary Arts program. This classic English dessert, a mix of strawberries, cream, and meringue, is said to have originated when two boys combined strawberries and cream. It later gained fame at a cricket match, where a happy accident gave it its unique name and appeal!

Duncombe Elementary students were able to interact, learn, and celebrate their accomplishments with high school students from the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at a recent school assembly. Duncombe students went home with a great experience to talk with their families about regarding the wonderful interactions with the SAAC students.
This partnership with elementary and high school athletes has been in the works for a few years now as teachers Amy Baker and Andi Adams wanted the powerful and positive impact from student-athletes at the high school to be shared with elementary students who may be struggling to see the benefits of school and being involved with athletics.
Mr. Flaherty and Mrs. Baker came to talk with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in January because SAAC students brainstormed even more ideas and ways to connect with elementary students. The assembly was the culmination of SAAC students interacting with the elementary students in a meaningful and positive way that celebrated the joy of learning!
